SLP 206 : Administrative Procedures and Management

This course introduces speech-language pathology assistant (SLPA) students to administrative functions, policies, and professional responsibilities associated with working in clinical, educational, and healthcare settings. Topics include documentation and record-keeping, billing and coding practices, scheduling, workload management, compliance with legal and ethical standards, and collaboration with supervisors and interdisciplinary teams. Students will gain practical knowledge of organizational procedures, confidentiality regulations, and technology used in speech-language pathology service delivery. Upon completion, students will be prepared to support the operational and professional requirements of their role as an SLPA in a variety of settings.
