SLP 104 : Speech Anatomy and Physiology

This course provides an overview of the anatomical structures and physiological processes that support speech, language, hearing, and swallowing. Students will study the form and function of the respiratory, phonatory, articulatory, resonatory, nervous, and auditory systems, with a focus on how these systems contribute to communication. Emphasis will be placed on normal structure and function as a foundation for understanding communication disorders. By the end of the course, students will be expected to demonstrate foundational knowledge necessary to support clinical and academic work in the field of communication sciences and disorders.
