SLP 101 : Introduction to Communication Disorders

This course provides an overview of various speech, language and hearing disorders; factors related to the causes and severity of communication disorders; and the professions associated with communication disorders, especially speech-language pathology and audiology. Upon completion, students are expected to demonstrate foundational knowledge of communication disorders, describe the basic scope of practice in related professions, and apply appropriate terminology to discuss causes and effects of speech, language, and hearing challenges.
