SLP 211 : SLPA Practicum/Fieldwork I

This supervised clinical fieldwork course provides students with their initial hands-on experience in a professional speech-language pathology setting. Students will observe and assist in the implementation of therapeutic interventions under the direction of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). Emphasis is placed on developing professional behaviors, communication skills, data collection techniques, and basic clinical service delivery. Students will apply knowledge from prerequisite coursework while gaining insight into ethical practice, cultural competence, documentation, and the scope of practice for SLPAs.
