SLP 201 : Speech Disorders and Intervention Across the Lifespan I

This course introduces speech sound disorders (SSD), fluency disorders, and voice/resonance disorders across the lifespan, with an emphasis on pediatric populations. Students will explore typical and atypical speech development, assessment methods, intervention principles, and strategies used by speech-language pathologists (SLPs). The course highlights evidence-based practices and the SLPA’s role in supporting treatment under supervision. Emphasis is placed on ethical service delivery, data collection, and culturally responsive practice.
