OTA 221 : Medical Conditions in O.T

This course introduces the effects of physical and mental health conditions, heritable diseases, and predisposing genetic conditions, disability disease processes, and traumatic injury to the individual within the cultural context of family and society on occupational performance. Upon completion, students should be able to explain the role of occupational therapy in providing treatment to a variety of medical conditions as well how to use occupations in the promotion of health and the prevention of disease and disability.
