The SGA is intended to provide for active student self-government; to encourage the development of satisfying relationships between students, faculty, and administration; to promote the involvement of students in community programs and projects; to provide social and recreational outlets for all students; to function as an organized and realistic laboratory through which students can acquire and “try out” those skills necessary for living in and improving their communities; and to provide the basis for common objectives while encouraging individual initiative and promoting a sense of identity within the WSCC student body. All students can take an active part in the SGA by voting in elections, by taking the initiative to seek offices, and by conveying ideas and/or requests to elected student representatives.
